It is a very proud moment to be part of the Akhil Bharatiya Brahmodyog Mahasangha. It is heart-warming to know that many businesspersons from our community are doing exceptionally well, shattering the age-old myth that we cannot succeed in business.
When I expressed my desire to venture into business, everyone thought I was crazy to give up my high-profile corporate job with a fat pay package and facilities. Many even tried to discourage me by telling that our community was not cut out for business.
I listened to my heart, used my brains, knowledge and experience to chase my dreams way back in 2007 when I launched Abhi Group of Companies, beginning with logistics. The journey was not a cakewalk, and sometimes lonely too, but I kept walking, nevertheless. Today Abhi Group of Companies, Global India Business Forum and The Business Tycoons magazine are household names. I am proud to be a self-made entrepreneur.
Looking back at the initial days of my entrepreneurial journey, I now feel that I would not have been where I am or maybe would have taken longer to be successful, had the naysayers not tried to discourage me. For, more the people tried to discourage me (some out of concern) more determined I became to succeed. On the way, I met many good and supportive people who stood by me through the thick and the thin and they are still with me.
After my schooling, I studied Bachelors in Electronics Engineering (BE-Electronics), Post-Graduation in IT, DIE (Diploma in Industrial Electronics), Masters in Management Science (MMS), DMM (Diploma in Material Management), ADCSSA (Advanced Diploma in Computer Software) and PGDBM. I also completed my PhD with the thesis, “Heavy Duty Transportation Industry in India”, while managing my business.
I have worked in Philips, Mahindra Ford, Greaves Cotton, Altas COPCO and Tata Motors as head of logistics and Asia-Pacific head. Today, I am the MD and Group Chairman of Abhi Group of Companies, and Global President of Global India Business Forum.
Abhi Group has diverse segments like – Abhi Impact Logistics, Ash Logistics and Traders Pvt. Ltd and Abhi Impact International in Dubai, Joshi Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Impressions Entertainment and Events, Abhi Realty, Abhi Charitable Foundation, Joshi Farms – a perfect getaway and wedding destination.
Many Brahmins must have faced discouragement initially. The situation has changed for good now. I congratulate the Akhil Bharatiya Brahmodyog Mahasangha for organizing Brahmodyog 2023 from February 25-28 in Delhi. I have been associated with ABBM since 2018 when I participated in Brahmodyog for the first time in Pune. It is excellent team work. The most important thing is that the Brahmin community is now excelling in business also and Brahmodyog is the right platform where various businesspersons, professionals, and service people come together from various parts of India. Spiritual discourses are also held.
This kind of assembly is important as people from various segments come together and they interact with each other. This is the manner in which the community has always grown in their business careers.
I congratulate Govind Kulkarni and his team for organizing this assembly. I am also part of the organizing team and I am proud of it. Many activities will be initiated by BBM, and I who is very active in business and also as the Global President of Global India Business Forum, will be conducting a seminar where we are inviting ambassadors of different countries to interact with our businesspersons. These ambassadors will share about business opportunities in their respective countries, import and export with our businesspersons from across the country. GIBF is ready to extend its support to the Brahmin community to go global and publish their success stories in The Business Tycoons magazine.
